Eddie Murphy, the legendary comedian, is making his first foray into the holiday film genre. Directed by Reginald Hudlin, “Candy Cane Lane” marks a reunion. It brings together Murphy, Hudlin, and producer Brian Grazer for the first time since their 1992 hit, “Boomerang.” With such a powerhouse team behind the scenes, it’s safe to say that “Candy Cane Lane” is in excellent hands.
The movie tells the story of Chris, played by Eddie Murphy. He is a man determined to win his neighborhood’s annual Christmas home decoration contest. However, things take a hilarious and chaotic turn when he strikes a deal with a mischievous elf named Pepper, played by Jillian Bell. Pepper’s magic spell brings the 12 Days of Christmas to life, wreaking havoc on the town. Chris, his wife Carol (Tracee Ellis Ross), and their three children must race against the clock to break Pepper’s spell. They must battle a host of magical characters to save Christmas for everyone.
