BioShock Netflix Film Coming From Hunger Games Director

BioShock video game is being adapted as a Netflix film.

Netflix’s Bioshock has found its director. Francis Lawrence will helm the video game adaptation. Lawrence is known best for The Hunger Games films and is currently filming the prequel titled The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The film’s screenwriter will be Michael Green from Logan and Blade Runner 2049. Bioshock is a first-person shooter featuring a morality tale told deep under the ocean’s surface in a creepy underwater city called Rapture. The games have sold a combined 39 million copies worldwide. 

Synopsis

Set in 1960, it follows Jack, who discovers the underwater city of Rapture. It was built by business magnate Andrew Ryan to be an isolated utopia. The discovery of ADAM, a genetic material that grants superhuman powers, initiated the city’s turbulent decline.
