Beetlejuice sequel is currently in the works.

Beetlejuice came out 35 years ago today. On March 30th, 1988, Tim Burton’s and Michael Keaton’s first collaboration hit theaters. The movie also starred Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin, Winona Ryder, Jeffrey Jones, and Catherine O’Hara. The film made $74,714,720 on a $15 million budget. It also won e Academy Award for Best Makeup. In addition, an animated series spawned from the film’s success. A sequel is now in development, with Burton returning along with Keaton and Ryder. Jenna Ortega will be joining them, as previously reported.
Synopsis
After Barbara (Geena Davis) and Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin) die in a car accident, they find themselves stuck haunting their country residence, unable to leave the house. When the unbearable Deetzes (Catherine O’Hara, Jeffrey Jones) and teen daughter Lydia (Winona Ryder) buy the home, the Maitlands attempt to scare them away without success. Their efforts attract Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton), a rambunctious spirit whose “help” quickly becomes dangerous for the Maitlands and innocent Lydia.
