Beerfest ended with a “Potfest” tease with Willie Nelson.

Today marks the internationally celebrated day of 4/20, and Broken Lizard, who gave us Beerfest, and Super Troopers have a brand new movie out, Quasi. It is now streaming on Hulu, and it parodies Quasimodo. Starring in this new comedy are Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske. Joining them in the film is The Orville’s Adrianne Palicki. During our Quasi interview with the guys, one of the questions asked was if we will ever see a sequel to Beerfest, which was teased at the end and called “Potfest.” We also got the status of Super Troopers 3. In the video below, Jay confirms that the status for a sequel is currently in the hands of Warner Bros, and they are discussing its potential and hope to get it made.
Jay Chandrasekhar was the director of the 2006 comedy Beerfest. In the film, two brothers (Stolhanske & Soter) from America happen upon a secret and centuries-old beer games competition during a visit to Germany’s Oktoberfest. After losing badly, they return to America, assemble an impressive team of brew lovers, and return to Germany for a rematch. At the film’s end, the post-credits had the guys in Amsterdam stumbling into Willie Nelson. He asks them to join his smoke-out team since Cheech & Chong bailed on him. The film ends with the text saying, “Potfest Coming Soon.’
