The 1993 Original Cut Camera Negative was sourced to create the 4K HDR/SDR remaster of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. The film was then scanned at 4K resolution to provide incredible visual clarity. Digital restoration was applied to remove dirt, scratches, and other anomalies. However, it still maintains the original film grain and animation cel dirt. The 2.0 mix and 5.1 tracks were remastered to complement the stunning visuals and create an immersive audio experience. The attention to detail in the remastering process ensures that both long-time fans and newcomers can fully enjoy the captivating world of Gotham City.

Included in the 4K Ultra HD release is a new featurette called “Kevin Conroy: I Am The Knight.”

It honors Kevin Conroy‘s impressive legacy of lending his iconic voice to Batman for over 30 years. He has done so across various platforms, including films, television, and video games. The voice acting in Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is exceptional. Conroy leads the star-studded cast as both Batman and Bruce Wayne, Dana Delany as Bruce’s love interest Andrea Beaumont, and Mark Hamill as the Joker. Other talented actors, such as Stacy Keach, Abe Vigoda, and Efrem Zimbalist Jr. also contributed their voices to bring the characters to life.

The creative team behind Mask of the Phantasm consists of the award-winning core group responsible for The Animated Series. Eric Radomski and Bruce Timm directed the film, while the screenplay was penned by Alan Burnett, Paul Dini, Martin Pasko, and Michael Reaves, based on a story by Alan Burnett.
