Avatar: The Way Of Water to be released this year.
The title of the Avatar sequel was revealed during CinemaCon. Avatar: The Way of Water will open in theaters on December 16. It is set more than a decade after the first film’s events. The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids. It will explore the trouble that follows them, their lengths to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure. The sequel is directed and produced by James Cameron. The film stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Ribisi, and Kate Winslet.
In addition, the studio will re-release the first Avatar in theaters on September 23. The teaser trailer screened at CinemaCon was in 3D. It will debut exclusively in theaters with Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” on May 6.
