In anticipation of Avatar: The Way of Water, a theatrical rerelease of James Cameron’s Academy Award-winning 2009 film is coming. The most successful film of all time will be in theaters in 4K High Dynamic Range on September 23rd. This allows moviegoers to experience Avatar in 3D.

The sequel will open in theaters on December 16th. It is set more than a decade after the first film’s events. The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids. It will explore the trouble that follows them, their lengths to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure. The sequel is directed and produced by James Cameron. The film stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Ribisi, and Kate Winslet.
