Arthur Says Goodbye As Final Episodes Air On PBS

After 25 years, Arthur will no longer have new episodes on PBS.

The final new episode of Arthur will debut today, February 21, 2022, on PBS. It has been on PBS for 25 years and consists of 253 episodes. Last summer, Screenwriter Kathy Waugh shared that the final episodes have been completed. In October of 1996, Arthur made his cartoon debut on PBS. The show targeted 4-8-year-olds. It is based on the books of the same name by creator and author Marc Brown. Set in the fictional U.S. city of Elwood City, the show revolves around the lives of Arthur Read, an anthropomorphic aardvark, his friends and family, and their daily interactions with each other.
