Amazing Fantasy #15 sells at auction for $3.6 Million
Move over, Action Comics #1, Superman’s first appearance now sits in second place to Amazing Fantasy #15, the first appearance of Spider-Man! Despite Action Comic #1 selling privately for $3.25 million earlier this year, it didn’t take long for Spider-Man to usurp that record. On September 9th on Heritage Auctions a copy of the historic comic sold for a whopping $3.6 million!

The issue is dated August 1962 and achieved an astounding 9.6 CGC quality grade! No 9.8 grades are known to exist. Not bad for a comic that’s almost 60 years old. The grade slab bears a blue banner, which means there aren’t any certified autographs on the cover, but this is still quite an achievement! One that should have all comic collectors Spidey senses tingling!!
Younger collectors might have difficulty webbing up their very own copies of the 1st print of Amazing Fantasy 15. Still, Miles Morales himself makes his debut in 2011’s Ultimate Fallout #4 and maybe that is something to add to your collection. Hopefully, he will be making his live-action debut soon.
